DOHA (AhlulBayt News Agency) - A two day international conference organised by the Orientalist Museum will take place at the Museum of Islamic Art on November 28 and 29.
The conference has been planned to accompany the Orientalist Museum exhibition “A Journey into the World of the Ottomans” that will be held in the temporary exhibition space at the Museum of Islamic Art and is part of the celebrations of Doha as Arab Capital of Culture for 2010.
The conference will explore the subject of Orientalism in art, examining the interconnected history of the Ottoman and European empires as well as their cultural exchange from the sixteenth to twenty first centuries.
Distinguished scholars from art history, cultural studies, literature, architectural history, and Ottoman history, as well as museum professionals, from some of the most important institution of the world will investigate crucial topics.
